In order to ensure success in our procedures, we take the necessary time to fully and thoroughly evaluate your present dental condition. We use the appropriate diagnostic tools such as X-rays, models, photographs, visual examination, full periodontal exam, oral cancer screening, and esthetic evaluations. Our goal is to give our patients the necessary information, education and tools; so that they may enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile for many years to come. We are proud of being able to offer fully digital radiography. We also have the capability of taking extra-oral bitewing radiographs, for those of our patients who experience difficulty discomfort while having x-rays taken.

Modern dentistry has allowed us the pleasure of combining beauty as well as strength when filling teeth. We take pride in “restoring” teeth to as close to their original strength and appearance with composite resins when indicated. At Dentistry On West, the dentists work closely with highly skilled Restorative Dental Hygienists (RDH). Together they will ensure that your restoration is highly functional, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.

Occasionally, a tooth will become infected. In these cases, a filling alone will not correct the problem. A root canal is the process of cleaning out the infection inside of the tooth and then sealing it with a special filling. We are able to do the majority of root canals for patients here in the familiar comfort of our office. If you would like to learn more about the procedure, please feel free to speak with one of knowledgeable team members.

We really take pride in being able to provide you with all of your dental treatment options, and our goal is to make it as manageable for you as possible. The information gathered at the initial exam allows us to develop customized treatment choices for you. We know that for some people, the options can be overwhelming. We want you to know that we are here to help you. We can help with creating a manageable dental treatment plan, prioritizing your concerns and dental needs, and assisting with insurance enquirers.

Sometimes teeth require more than a filling for restoration. Those that have more extensive tooth structure loss may need a crown or “cap”. This restoration fits over the complete chewing surface of the tooth to replace the missing tooth structure and protect it from future cracking or breakage. Bridges are a connected set of crowns. They replace one or more teeth between them and protect the teeth they are cemented on to. A veneer is like a mask for a tooth. It covers the visible surface of a (usually) front tooth to help restore ideal appearance. It can help with small, crooked, or discolored teeth.

When specialized restorations such as crowns, bridges, and veneers are required our knowledgeable and skilled team will be able to help you achieve the strength, durability, and appearance that you are looking for.

There are occasions where teeth are beyond restoration and require extraction (removal). Most surgical extractions can be done in our office. We offer a few different levels of sedation to keep you as comfortable as possible for these procedures. We also have many options available for you to consider for replacement of a missing tooth.

Dr. Brian Kumer is available in our office to perform wisdom teeth removal and sedation. Our patients appreciate that we do not have to refer out for this service. Great care is taken to provide you with the best of service before, during, and after your surgery.

We believe a good foundation is the key to optimal oral health; therefore, periodontal care is of utmost priority. We customize hygiene visits to properly care for your specific periodontal (gums & bone) needs. Regular tooth cleaning by a dental professional is extremely important. It removes tartar that can build up even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in parts of the mouth that are particularly challenging to reach. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling, polishing and debridement. Our professionals use a variety of tools and continue to update their skills to make sure that you are receiving exceptional service. Whether a six month checkup, or full periodontal therapy; our hygienists will always strive to provide the very best treatment while maintaining your absolute comfort. Our friendly and knowledgeable hygienists are able to provide you with both education and tools to help ensure your home care is effective and supportive of your long term oral health.

If you are interested in further improving your healthy smile, we have the technology and experience to help you achieve your smile goals. Whether you are concerned with discolored, crooked, or worn teeth; we can assure you that our knowledgeable team will be able to present you with options that will address all of your cosmetic concerns.

Nervous about having dental work done? We are able to provide three different types of sedation right here in our office. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas), moderate sedation (a combination of nitrous oxide and an oral sedative), and general anesthetic (dentistry while you sleep). If you have any questions regarding the different types of sedation we offer, or what might suit your personal needs, please contact our office and speak with one of our knowledgeable staff members.

Dental sealants are a treatment intended to reduce the risk of tooth decay. Adult back teeth have deep grooves on their biting surfaces; which are most vulnerable to tooth decay, due to food collecting in them and being difficult to clean. Dental sealants are materials placed in these grooves to fill them in, creating a smooth surface that is easy to clean. They are placed as soon as the adult molar teeth come through.

Our patients love the results they achieve with our home whitening kits. We offer an easy and affordable whitening program. If you are interested in brightening your healthy smile be sure to let us know. Our specialized team is here to guide you through the whole process of achieving a whiter, brighter smile.

Implants are a titanium support that is used to either replace missing teeth or help stabilize a denture. Mini implants are smaller versions that are only used for denture support. We have different options available for your individual needs. If you are interested in learning more about how implants might improve your smile, comfort, and health, please contact our office today and book a consultation.
